Qi of Life
Placentophagy (from ‘placenta’ + ‘phagy’ = to eat) is the act of mammals eating the placenta of their young after childbirth. Most placental mammals participate in placentophagy, including herbivores and primates. Fortunately you don’t have to eat the placenta like a piece of meat to obtain all the benefits that ingesting it can bring. Qi of Life can prepare your placenta, dry it, grind it up and encapsulate it so that all you need to do is simply pop a few capsules!
Who I am

Methods
Tradition Chinese Method (TCM)
Placenta Encapsulation is inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine. This method of preparation involves cleaning the placenta, steaming with lemon, chilli and ginger and then dehydrating the placenta before it is ground and put into capsules. Using this preparation is thought to bring out the placentas healing and tonifying properties.
After the first 48 hours, warming foods are most beneficial. Cooked or steamed foods (prepared and/or encapsulated placenta) are used to help rebuild blood, qi, and slowly increase the body's endocrine functions.
Raw Method
Raw Placenta Encapsulation skips the heating process altogether. This method of preparation involves cleaning the placenta and then dehydrating the placenta before it is ground and put into capsules. In this method, the placenta is not steamed/cooked prior to dehydration.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, cooling foods are best in the first 48 hours postpartum. Raw foods, thus raw placenta, are used to help calm the hormonal rush and blood flow down.
Half & Half
This method just means your placenta is split between TCM method and raw method to allow for the benefits of both options.
Modified TCM method
This follows the TCM method but allows for adjustment of ingredients due to allergies, preference or beliefs. You can remove ingredients or add extras.
